Result - Billy Faulkner and Brian Robertson became this year's Trophy winners by narrowly defeating Barbara Tottey and Gordon Tottey in the final.
Lucky with the weather, good food from the Hog Roast, and who cares about the result!!!! Six matches to decide with the Captain's side coming out on top 108-95 cumulative shots. But the President went home happy - his team overcame the Captain's team in their head-to-head match.
Thanks to Colin Appleton as Organiser, the caterers for the hog Roast, and Jose in the Hacienda Sports Bar.
Played in Australian Pairs format meant plenty of walking on a very warm day! Winners Barbara Tottey with Brian Wright toiled from early morning through five matches before overcoming runners up Jan Matthews with Jimmy Cochrane to take the John Smith trophy. Even then they had to play an extra end to decide.

First rounds of annual Club Championships commenced 1st September, 2018. The Championships extend through to the finals scheduled to be played on March 9th and 10th , 2019.
Eight teams of three competed to play in a 1-2-3 format, 6-ends singles followed by 6-ends pairs then ending with 8-ends triples. Points were accumulated at each stage and the team with the most points took the trophy.
This year the worthy winners were the triples team of Harry Male, Barbara Tottey and Sylvia Logue. Well fought, well deserved but only a shade better than second placed team Alan Benton, Gillian Morris and Kim Lloyd. The trophy was presented by Competition Secretary and Organiser Colin Appleton.
This year's event was dedicated to the memory of Members June Parkinson and John Erskine who sadly were taken from us earlier this year. At the close of the day entry fees and all proceeds/donations amounting to 500 euros were accepted by Bev Thompson on behalf of MABS Charity.
